Blooms Cafe isn’t exactly a match to Amsterdam’s business, but this doesn’t mean that there you won’t be tasting any savoury cups of cannabis-infused coffee.

CBD Strains and Infused Coffee, But No THC

Ireland folks still face the issue of illegal adult-use cannabis with the country’s Minister of Health only allowing medicinal use on a case-by-case basis. However, this didn’t stop Blooms from becoming the prime cafe in Ireland to sell cannabis flower and infused coffee. To stay in business, this sweet spot in Waterford City offers cannabis and hemp botanicals that are rich in CBD and have insignificant levels of THC. According to the packaging, the hemp and CBD strains that are sold in the cafe are grown in Croatia.

What you need to know if you’re planning to hasten to Bloom is that the shop isn’t a place for consuming cannabis. Customers can’t consume their cannabis in the cafe or on the sidewalks outside it. Also, to remind once again, Blooms doesn’t sell anything with THC in it (maximum THC that is legal is 0.2%).

CBD Is Popular

CBD is often a legal substance due to its non-psychoactive effects. This cannabinoid also happens to be one of the most well-researched marijuana compounds. Across numerous studies spanning decades, researchers have revealed CBD to be a harmless and effective treatment for a variety of diseases and symptoms. CBD diminishes inflammation, heals nerves, slows the spread of cancerous tumours and offsets some of the negative effects of THC. Given this enormous therapeutic potential, analysts expect the CBD market to top €2 billion over the next several years.

Many are seeing this as an opportunity to capitalize on CBD’s increasing mainstream appeal by starting to include products and services in their offer in places where cannabis is otherwise illegal. And Ireland is no different.

Blooms Cafe is the pioneer with hopefully many followers to come. Anyone who wants to check out this homey establishment, go to 50 John Street in Waterford City.
